Baron Gotham Steep can be called one of the most mysterious residents of Izegem. The cheerful man, fled the United Kingdom during the Great War and lived for a while in the castle of Blauwhuis. With the arrival of the baron, 4 less cheerful characters also appeared. They called themselves 'the collective' and did not shy away from using violence to achieve their goal, finding several very valuable gold coins. The four eccentrics had the idea that the baron had something to hide and wanted to put him firmly on the spot. However, the baron turned out to be a master at avoiding the collective, even taunted them and consistently led them astray. He took pleasure in teaching people a lesson. Until that fateful night of December 15 in the year 1920. The night the Baron disappeared. No one has ever heard anything from him or the collective again. Nothing was known about the coins until recently either. Until recently, because recently two documents were found in the castle which are suspected of being related to the fate of the baron and the location of the coins. The first document that was found under a loose plank proves that the baron knew about the existence of the coins at least! The second document was found among the ash remains of the fireplace and refers to the cellars of the old post office building of Izegem.
