About the escape room
Nov 1917 The First World War is raging in Belgium. Belgium is largely occupied territory. Only in the Westhoek, especially on the Yser, did the soldiers manage to hold their ground. The Belgian army mainly aspired to a defensive approach. This was not to the liking of some brave soldiers who wanted more action to defend their homeland. Therefore, some soldiers formed a select group and deliberately sought information from the opponents, sought prisoners of war and carried out specific attack actions to serve their country. The Patrols were born. Despite their headstrong approach that also endangered their own lives, they achieved many successes and could count on the support of the army commanders and their corps mates. Bitten by the heroism of these soldiers, you decide to join the Patrols. Your mission seems very clear: to blow up a machine gun nest of the opposition. Can you locate the exact position of the machine-gun nest of the opposition? Will you make it through No Man's Land in one piece? Can you gain sufficient knowledge about the explosives to be used? In short: can you combine good cooperation and courage so that this attack attempt is Patrol worthy?

AI Overview

AIVisitors mainly praise the strong set and the rare WWI setting. The puzzles are solid but rather simple and often parallel, so you can miss parts if you push too far ahead. The welcome and debrief vary widely by host, and some players miss a soundtrack, a sense of threat, or an actor. Nevertheless, people find the whole very fun and worth the detour, helped by touches like references to real WWI codes.
WeaknessesReception and debrief sometimes feel rushed or impersonal, often without a photo. The tension stays mild; a soundscape or actor could have added threat. Because of the parallel setup, your team can miss content if you split too much.
StrengthsWell-finished set that brings the WWI theme convincingly to life. Puzzles fit the story and feel fair, with a nice nod to historical codes.
SecurityLittle explicit info in the reviews, but nothing points to physical danger or stunts. It looks like a classic puzzle room with a standard briefing.
Level of fearNot scary and no live actor; the wartime atmosphere is tense but safe. Suitable for sensitive players and younger teams.
Actors' gameThere are no actors in the game. Interaction with the host ranges from warm and engaged to rather distant.
Quality of riddlesMostly easy to medium and often solvable in parallel, with a smooth flow. Theme integration is strong and some puzzles reference real WWI codes. Hardcore puzzlers may find it a bit tame.
PlotYou join the Patrouilles to locate and sabotage the enemy machine-gun position. Cooperation and timing are central, without heavy plot twists.
Difficulty levelAccessible for beginners and mixed groups; experienced escapers move through smoothly. Stay together at times to avoid teammates missing sections.
